Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announces the industry's first professional automotive thin film chip resistor in the 0603 case size to combine a high operating temperature to +175 °C (1000 hours) and an advanced level of rated power.

  • The high power rating, resistance to humidity, and high-temperature performance of the new chip resistor meet the automotive requirements of today and the future
  • Optimized to provide high reliability in harsh environments
  • CECC approval ensures the device meets a set of demanding and sophisticated short-term and long-term performance requirements as defined by EN 140401-801
    • Compliance is verified through periodic audits by an independent and external testing and certification agency
  • Complies with the GADSL and the CEFIC-EECA-EICTA list of legal restrictions on hazardous substances, including:
    • 2000/53/EC End of Vehicle life (ELV) and 2000/53/EC Annex II to End of Vehicle Life (ELV II) directives
    • 2002/95/EC Restriction of the use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
    • 2002/96/EC Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE)

While most thin film chip resistors offer power ratings to 100 mW at +70 °C ambient temperature, the power rating of the MCT 0603 AT is specified to 150 mW at +85 °C. This high power rating, combined with the device's high-temperature performance and excellent moisture resistivity specified to . 0.5 %, allow the AEC-Q200-compliant resistor to provide high reliability in harsh environments.
